Senior AWS Cloud Engineer – Cost Optimization Specialist

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Engineer with expertise in Turbonomic and ParkMyCloud to join our Cloud FinOps team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in utilizing these platforms to identify and achieve a cost savings goal of $4 million, employing advanced cost optimization strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize Turbonomic and ParkMyCloud to perform comprehensive analysis of cloud resource usage and uncover cost-saving opportunities across AWS services.
• Develop and fine-tune scripts and automation processes to maximize cloud resource efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Implement cost optimization strategies, including automated scheduling, rightsizing, and resource management, to enhance cloud financial efficiency.
• Stay updated on AWS pricing models and best practices to ensure optimal use of cloud resources in alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with cloud and technical management teams to integrate cost-savings recommendations into operational practices and track progress against financial targets, ensuring maintained performance and reliability.
• Design and execute financial governance processes to continuously monitor and optimize cloud expenditures.
• Develop accurate reporting mechanisms and robust monitoring tools that provide transparency and accountability in tracking cost savings and resource optimization outcomes, focusing on achieving 2025 savings goals.
• Provide training and support to technical teams and cloud users on leveraging Turbonomic and ParkMyCloud as part of a broader cloud cost management strategy.
• Lead hands-on configuration and deployment of advanced cloud optimization strategies, including dynamic scheduling and precise rightsizing of resources.
• Conduct regular analysis and verification of cloud expenditures, directly applying findings to realize immediate and sustainable cost reductions.
• Engage in continuous hands-on improvement of cloud financial governance practices, ensuring effective execution across the organization.

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in AWS cloud engineering with a consistent track record of leading successful cost optimization initiatives.
• Demonstrable expertise in using Turbonomic and ParkMyCloud to drive enterprise-level cloud cost efficiencies.
• Extensive experience in scripting and automation for cloud resource management using Turbonomic and ParkMyCloud.
• Advanced knowledge of AWS services, pricing structures, and financial governance, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable strategies.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and analytical acumen with a track record of delivering substantial cost savings through innovative technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work collaboratively in hands-on technical environments influencing and collaborating at all levels of the organization.
