Indirect Purchasing Specialist III

Collins Consulting, Inc North Chicago, IL (Onsite) Contractor

This is a hybrid position. Onsite Tuesday to Thursday.

Job Description: The Procurement Specialist works within the Procurement Organization, which provides sourcing, contracting and category management services to multiple functional areas within the company. The role supports the Procurement Category Associate Director and is responsible for supporting, executing, enforcing and managing the category strategy at the transactional level set by the Category Team. The positions objective is to lead through execution of assigned activities while deploying process efficiencies.

Responsibilities:
a. Understand the Organizations approved buying channels and contracting policy for goods and services and help guide requestors to the appropriate buying channel identified by Supplier Management Team.
b. Administrative support for procurement projects and supplier management (contract redlining and execution, contract reviewing, bid summary justifications, data analysis, etc.)
c. Work with high ethical standard, in compliance with the law and client policies and procedures
d. Support the Category Team strategy by enforcing the supplier preferred network, understanding Category Team initiatives/priorities, having subject matter expertise and educating stakeholders of the same
e. Effectively review and negotiate Master Service Agreements, Statements of Work and any other agreement in alignment with agreed category strategies, at a financial spend level approved and authorized for the position
f. Manage standard Procure-to-Pay intake contract requests within established Service Level metrics
g. Assist in the execution of process efficiency related projects that serve to improve customer experience within the Procure-to-Pay process

What are the top 3-5 skills, experience or education required for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of procurement/negotiations experience in Purchasing, preferably, but not limited to Facilities Management
  • Real Estate Services Procurement experience is a nice to have
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
  • Experience conducting vendor negotiations and Contract Management
  • Analytical & Financial Acumen: For cost analysis, budgeting, and savings identification
  • Understanding of contracting in Indirect Procurement space (Statements of Work, Master Agreements)
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload across multiple projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills required to coordinate and manage multiple cross divisional work process and projects
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in procurement, ideally in Facilities Management (FM) or real estate services.
Skills:
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Proven ability to secure favorable terms.
  • Analytical & Financial Acumen: For cost analysis, budgeting, and savings identification
  • Relationship Management: Building strategic supplier and client partnerships.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Software: Familiarity with procurement/ERP systems.
